I. The introduction of Unsoed (University of Jenderal Soedirman)

University General Sudirman (Unsoed), is one of the State Universities (PTN) in Indonesia, which is located in Purwokerto, Banyumas, Central Java.

The university was established on 23 September 1963, pursuant to Presidential Decree No.195/1963 and Ministerial Decree No.. 153/1963. General Sudirman name itself is taken from a Commander in Chief who is a national hero born in Banyumas place where this university stand up and be a living monument to the memory of his services to the homeland, the nation and the state.

The campus has an area of ​​over 850,000 m2 has a relatively cool air because geographically located at the foot of Mount Slamet north of Purwokerto, Banyumas, in addition to not being cool is also located right in the middle of the city so that it can be categorized conducive and comfortable for learning activities teaching, as well as for other educational activities. University General Sudirman at the beginning of the course only has three faculties, namely the Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Biology, Faculty of Economics. but along with the development from time to time Currently there are 8 faculties which comprise more than 50 diploma courses both undergraduate and Graduate Program. and to the future of General Sudirman University, will continue to perform its wings mengepakan developments in various sectors in order to achieve the ideals of General Sudirman University as "World Class Civic University".

General Sudirman University has a Health Facilities Adequate with Professionals to serve Students, Faculty, Staff Administration and Public. Health Facilities owned by the University General Sudirman is: 

1. POLYCLINIC

General Sudirman University Polyclinic known as Health Centre with the motto UNSOED " better health care for better futures." This clinic is located at Prof.. H.R Boenyamin 708 (front FISIP Unsoed). This Polikilinik practice Monday s.d. Saturday starting at 07:30 to 21:30 pm and has 2 (two) physician practice includes general practitioners and dentists. The health service has met the standard of health care at a reasonable cost and is intended for students and the general public.
